Our Great Taste® Collection

Since 1994, the gold star ratings of Great Taste® have become a recognised benchmark for food quality, with products judged solely on their texture, aroma, appearance and flavour, without influence from branding or packaging.

Our Beef Rump Roast was awarded the highest accolade of 3 Stars in Great Taste® 2025. Over the years, many other Swaledale products have also received Great Taste® recognition, all brought together here in our Great Taste® Collection.

From dry-cured bacon, Yorkshire Breakfast Chipolatas and Lamb Merguez Sausages to roasting joints, steaks and slow-cooking cuts, this collection showcases products recognised for their flavour, character and eating quality.

Please note that Great Taste® badge usage is subject to a three-year validity period. Some products in this collection have received Great Taste® recognition previously but may not display a current Great Taste® badge.

Award-Winning British Meat

This collection brings together products that have stood out over the years for their depth of flavour, character and versatility, reflecting the quality of the meat and the care taken in how it is reared, butchered and prepared.

Tuscan-Style Sausages are excellent on the barbecue, in a ragù or cooked with beans, whilst Jacob’s Ladder Beef Ribs are a favourite with the Swaledale team for their richness and deep beef flavour.

You’ll also find cuts that lend themselves to more considered cooking, such as Pork Shoulder Chop, Mutton Shoulder and Topside of Beef, all of which reflect the character of native breeds and traditional butchery.
