When placing your Swaledale order please double check that you've filled out your address details correctly, and your device has not auto-populated the fields with an alternative address. If in doubt after you've placed your order, you can double check the delivery details you've submitted by looking at your confirmation email.

Please ensure you are available to receive your order, or if you won't be, have advised DPD through the app to leave your parcel with a neighbour or in a safe place. We are not liable for parcels that go astray once your parcel has been delivered by DPD and a proof of delivery photo has been taken.

Which days of the week do you deliver?
We deliver Tuesday to Saturday. There are no deliveries on Sunday or Monday.

Which courier do you use?
Our trusted delivery partner is DPD, who are the gold standard of couriers in the UK.

Is there a minimum order value (MOV)?
Our minimum order is £60.

Why is there a MOV?
We, at Swaledale Online Butchers, set high standards for ourselves which includes an eco-friendly shipping policy. By optimising available box space, we actively encourage considered ordering; a necessary measure to ensure the healthy and sustainable growth of our business whilst continuing to support our passionate and hard-working farmers.

How much is standard delivery?
Standard delivery is £3.95 for orders £60 to £69.99

Is standard delivery free?
Yes, standard delivery is free on orders over £70

Do you offer Pre-12 (1pm in Scotland) delivery?
Yes, please select at the checkout. Pre-12 (1pm in Scotland) is for mainland UK postcodes only.

How much is Pre-12 (1pm in Scotland)?

Can I choose my delivery date?
Yes, you'll be prompted to select your delivery date when you check out. Typically this can be up to 100-days from today, excluding Sundays, Mondays and public holidays etc.

What is the cut-off time for a next day delivery?
9am Monday to Friday.

Do you substitute items?
No, never. Stock levels in our shop are accurate and updated daily.

Can I track my order?
Yes, DPD encourages you to track your order throughout its journey. Please follow the instructions on the SMS and/or email you'll receive once your order ships.

Is there a DPD App?
Yes, and we recommend using it to track and receive real time updates on your DPD delivery. The DPD App is available only on the App Store for iPhone and iPad or get it on Google Store.

Can I change my delivery date once my order has shipped?
No, due to the nature of our perishable goods it is not possible to change your delivery date once your order has been shipped.

Can Swaledale change my delivery address once my order has shipped?
No, due to how DPD operate it is not possible for Swaledale to change your delivery address once your order has shipped. You can leave delivery instructions on the DPD App though.

Can I request where my order is left?
The DPD App, available only on the App Store for iPhone and iPad or get it on Google Store, enables you to manage your delivery and update delivery instructions.

Do you use recyclable and eco-friendly packaging?
Yes, we use a double-walled cardboard box with Sealed Air® Brand TempGuard™ - recyclable packaging developed for shipping 🥩 temperature-sensitive goods. The product's thermal insulation is constructed from heavy-duty kraft paper containing a uniform inner padding, which provides superior insulating properties.

Where do you offer next day delivery?
We ship to the mainland UK and any postcodes where DPD offers a next day or 2-day delivery service.

Which Scottish postcodes do you deliver to using DPD's next day service?

What happens if an order is placed to a postcode you don't deliver to?
Our system will cancel and refund the order and send a cancellation email.

Do you accept returns?
No, due to the nature of perishable goods this is not possible. Your statutory rights are not affected. If you experience an issue with your order, please email referencing your order number as soon as possible.

What happens if my items are damaged in transit?
If you take delivery of a package and any of the contents have been damaged during transit, we will replace the damaged item(s) free of charge or offer a refund. Please email referencing your order number and issue as soon as possible.

What happens if incorrect items are delivered?
If we have sent you an incorrect item, please email referencing your order number and we will either send you the correct item free of charge as soon as possible or alternatively we will refund the item. We will not charge you for the incorrect item.

What happens if my delivery is delayed?
Customers should note that in the rare event there is a delay with your delivery, our insulated packaging ensures that the meat stays in optimal condition for over 48-hours from the time it leaves Swaledale HQ. If there is a problem with the meat delivered we will do everything we can to make it right, we value and seek long-term relationships with our customers. However we cannot refund or replace your order unless the quality of the meat has been compromised by the delay. If you have reason for concern once you have received your delivery, please email referencing your order number and concern as soon as possible.

Will my delivery driver knock at the door?
Please note that the way deliveries are made has changed, and DPD drivers no longer have to knock or hand the parcel to you in person. If they don't, you should receive an electronic notification (text or email) once the delivery has been made, so please look out for this and be on hand to take custody of your delivery.

What if I live in a building with a communal foyer or entrance hall?
If you live somewhere with a communal entrance, please be aware that your parcel may be left in a foyer or post room where other residents have access to it, so it is important to be on hand to collect your delivery promptly.

Do you offer a collection service?
No, we do not offer a collection service.

Can I cancel my order?
Yes of course, please email referencing your order number no less than 4-working days before your chosen delivery date.

Why is there no packaging returns service?
Offering this service would not only be unhygienic but we calculated the carbon footprint of returning used packaging to be higher than if you recycled it. Despite the current trends in this sector, it seemed performative of us to simply gloss over this fact.
