Product description

Easy-Carve Rolled & Stuffed Bronze Turkey Leg
If you're the one reaching for the brown meat at Christmas, this is the joint for you. Our butchers bone two turkey legs, add your choice of stuffing and roll them together into one joint that's straightforward to roast and easy to carve.

Turkey leg has darker, richer meat than the breast, with a firmer texture from those hard-working muscles. It's also a little more forgiving to roast, making it a good choice when there's plenty else going on in the Christmas kitchen.

Choose between Classic Sausage Meat and Pork, Prunes in Armagnac, Shallot & Sage Stuffing. The classic keeps things simple and savoury; the prunes bring a little sweetness alongside the pork and herbs. Whichever you choose, you get meat and stuffing in each slice.

Brown the skin in a pan, then finish the joint in the oven. Use a meat thermometer to check that the centre of the stuffing and the thickest part of the turkey reach 75°C for at least 30 seconds. Give it time to rest before carving.

There's no need to stray far from the classics when it comes to serving it. It's Christmas lunch, after all. Make plenty of Valentine Warner's bread sauce, bring out the roast potatoes and try his roasted Christmas apples alongside. Their fruitiness works beautifully with the rich leg meat.

Always Fresh, Never Frozen®, our stuffed turkey leg joint is butchered to order, vacuum packed and delivered in insulated, recyclable packaging, ready to cook.

Cooking advice

Brown the joint all over in a hot pan, then transfer to a roasting tin with a little stock and roast at 180°C, or 160°C fan. Use a meat thermometer to check that both the thickest part of the turkey and the centre of the stuffing reach 75°C for at least 30 seconds. Rest for 20–30 minutes before removing the string and carving. Use the roasting juices to make your gravy.
